Prof. Mamudu A. Akudugu currently serves as both the President of the University for Development Studies (UDS) Branch of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG-UDS) and the National President. Before his election as Branch and National President in October 2023, Mamudu was the UTAG-UDS Treasurer from October 2019 to September 2023.
Prof. Akudugu is currently the Director of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research (IIR) of the UDS. Other positions occupied by Mamudu before assuming the Directorship of IIR include the Head of University Consultancy Services Unit, Deputy Director of the IIR, Head of Department of Research and Grants Support, and Director of the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Partnerships Services (DRIPS), all of UDS.
He holds a PhD in Livelihoods (International and Rural Development) from the University of Reading, UK and MPhil in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ghana. He is an Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics and a former Vice President (Administration) of the Ghana Association of Agricultural Economists (GAAE). Prof. Akudugu is a proud alumnus of the US Department of State Fulbright Scholar in Residence (SIR) Programme and Commonwealth Scholar. He is the National Coordinator of the Ghana Inclusive Development Research Network (GIDRN).
